Amazing Spider-Man: Symbie #1 carries the week's only Hot Spec flag. It's a Marvel-confirmed origin story that walks the Klyntar race back to its beginning (Symbie has been in comics since 2025, so it isn't a first). Two potential firsts round out the top of the list: a possible Absolute Silver Swan debut in Absolute Wonder Woman #26, and the potential first comic appearances of Business Baby and Big Mildew in Invincible Universe Capes #13.

FOC closes Monday at noon. On Silver Swan, the sources disagree: Bleeding Cool ties the first look to #26, a fan post points to #28, and DC's solicit doesn't name her.

PRIORITY BOOKS
Amazing Spider-Man: Symbie #1
Amazing Spider-Man: Symbie #1 (Marvel Comics). The origin of Symbie, the little glob Spidey met in space back in Amazing Spider-Man #11 from 2025. This traces the Klyntar race to its beginning, the same line that produced Venom and Carnage. Marvel-confirmed, and the only Hot Spec call this week. Plus a bonus story from Jacob Chabot in the Infinity Comic style.
Absolute Wonder Woman #26
Absolute Wonder Woman #26 (DC Comics, $4.99, Kelly Thompson/Hayden Sherman). A Bleeding Cool NYCC report ties the first look at Absolute Silver Swan to this issue, which is what makes it a potential first. The caveat matters: a fan post points to #28 instead, and DC's solicit does not name the character. On the page itself, Steve Trevor steps up as fear grips Gateway City and Etta finds her lead on Cale in an unexpected place.
Invincible Universe Capes #13
Invincible Universe Capes #13 (Image Comics, $3.99, Benito Cereno/Mark Englert). Image says a backup story in this issue introduces Business Baby and Big Mildew from the animated series, making it a potential first comic appearance for both. The main story picks up after Dinosaurus' attack, with Capes, Inc. facing market competition and needing new recruits to keep the lights on.
ON THE RADAR
Black Cat #17
Black Cat #17 (Marvel Comics, $4.99, G. Willow Wilson). Marvel's solicit says Felicia Hardy gains mutant powers and joins the X-Men here. Her encounter with Emma Frost left her changed. Covers include a 1:25 Danica Brine and a 1:50 Nakayama virgin.
Void Rivals #36
Void Rivals #36 (Image Comics, $3.99, Robert Kirkman/Conor Hughes, Patricio Delpeche). Comics Beat and AIPT preview coverage report Rom returns in this issue. End of arc, Proximus vs. Solila, with a 1:25 Muerto and a 1:50 Balam on the incentive side.
X-Men #42
X-Men #42 (Marvel Comics, $4.99, Jed MacKay). DNX aftermath. Marvel's solicit says the team gathers to remember a lost comrade, confirming a death and escalating consequences. The deceased is not named in the solicit, so the identity is the open question. Chris Allen on the 1:25.
Lancer #1
Lancer #1 (Bad Idea, $5.99, Mike Costa/Jake Baker). Near-future action thriller where gig-economy apps dispatch vets to exterminate invasive species. Pete Sanborn is a broke former Marine taking hunts. The incentive covers run deep: a 1:250, a 1:100 Paul Pope, a 1:50 Chris Burnham, and a 1:20 Jerome Opena. The 1:250 is the week's steepest incentive across the full list.
RUMOR WATCH
Superman #44
Superman #44 (DC Comics, $4.99, Joshua Williamson/Xermanico). The Night Shift arc continues. DC's solicit has Superman finding a Metropolis cult worshipping a corrupted Black Lantern ring that tries to claim him, with Nekron's return teased. The story picks up from #43, where Bleeding Cool's NYCC coverage says Marilyn Moonlight returns. The Nekron tease is the hook.

The Scorched #57 (Image Comics, $3.99, Thomas Healy/Raymond Gay). Image's solicit says this features the appearance of a major, unnamed villain in the Spawn franchise, plus She-Spawn teaming with a brutal, unnamed Hellspawn. Neither is named in the solicit. Part one of a story bridging the Spawn Universe's past and future.

HOW TO READ THE FLAGS

Each flag says what the research found on the book before the cutoff.

  • Confirmed: the publisher's own solicit, preview pages, or an official announcement backs the claim for this exact book and issue. Anything less is Likely (several rumor-class sources agree), Unverified (nothing proves it either way), or marked rumor-based in the text.
  • Potential First: a source or the solicit says a character or version debuts here. It stays "potential" until the book is in hand. Reprints and facsimiles are never counted as firsts.
  • Buzz Flag: more than one source is talking about the book. It measures noise, not truth.
  • Priority Books: our two top tiers. Hot Spec is a confirmed potential first or a confirmed origin story. High Priority is a potential first that only rumor or noise backs so far, or a confirmed key event (a death, a milestone, a crossover) without a first.
  • Watch: noise from more than one source, a confirmed event by itself, a 1:50 or higher ratio, or a #1 carrying an unverified claim.
  • With Intel: the book has a written spec summary, of any status.
  • Ratio Variant: a cover a shop gets only by ordering a set number of the regular cover. 1:25 means one per twenty-five.
