PRIORITY BOOKS
Eye Collector #6
Eye Collector #6 (Image, $4.99, Jonathan Ball & GMB Chomichuk): the solicit bills this 48-page arc finale as the first full appearance of Dreamskin, so it is a potential first. Nathan takes the fight to the Eye Collector inside the dreams with a Bladed Heart, Mother's Eyes, and Father's Dreamskin. Oversized issue closing out the End of Childhood arc. High Priority on this one.
Iron Man #12

War Machines Part 1 of 4, with Rhodey leading a new armored team against A.I.M. and a familiar face stepping into the Iron Patriot role. The 1:25 is a Pere Perez cover. Williamson is building toward Iron Man #700 in 2027.
Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren #5
Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren #5 (Marvel, $4.99, Charles Soule): Marvel's solicit says the finale brings back Emperor Palpatine. Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren hunt the reborn Emperor with the voice of Darth Vader guiding every step. The 1:25 is a Dave Dorman cover. Soule closing out Kylo's dark descent.
Wolverine: Origin III - The Dark Age #1
Wolverine: Origin III - The Dark Age #1 (Marvel, $4.99, Paul Jenkins/Cafu): the only Hot Spec book on the week, and it is Confirmed. Jenkins returns to Wolverine 25 years after the original Origin to tell the never-before-revealed 1950s chapter of Logan's history, with Cafu on interiors. The 1:100 is a Josemaria Casanovas virgin, which shares the week's steepest ratio tier with Maximum X-Men #1 at 1:100. A 1:25 Mico Suayan standard is also in the mix.
ON THE RADAR
King Spawn #61
King Spawn #61 (Image, $3.99, Matthew Rosenberg/Thomas Nachlik): Spawn returns to New York to face The 400, the new power structure that took over while he was gone. That makes it a potential first for The 400. Spawn learns he is no longer the Alpha here. Watch tier.
Maximum X-Men #1
Maximum X-Men #1 (Marvel, $4.99, Christopher Yost/Tony S. Daniel): Storm and Wolverine assemble a new team after Armageddon to face the Annihilation Wave. CBR and Bleeding Cool report Betsy Braddock drops Psylocke for the codename Butterfly here, a potential first under the new name, and Yost says Justice joins the team. The 1:100 is an Ivan Talavera virgin, one of two books at the week's steepest 1:100 tier alongside Origin III #1.
Lady Baltimore: The Constant Death of Dr. Rose #1
Lady Baltimore: The Constant Death of Dr. Rose #1 (Dark Horse, $4.99, Mike Mignola & Christopher Golden/Bridgit Connell): Dark Horse's solicit says Lady Baltimore, Lord Baltimore and Dr. Rose return in a new three-part story. Dr. Rose is the embodiment of plague itself. Mignola and Golden continue the horror line. Watch tier.
Venom: POV #1
Venom: POV #1 (Marvel, $4.99, Ryan Stegman/Carlos Gómez): a retelling of Venom's origin from the symbiote's point of view, confirmed by the publisher. Stegman and Gómez both have history with the character. The 1:25 is a Chris Campana standard and there is a 1:50 virgin in the mix. High Priority.
Superman Unlimited #19
Superman Unlimited #19 (DC, $4.99, Dan Slott/Lucas Meyer): the solicit says Superman gets transformed into a one-eyed, three-tentacled alien mid-adventure with his son, Tomorrow Man. Slott on a Superman book. Watch tier.
RUMOR WATCH
Detective Comics #1115
Detective Comics #1115 (DC, $4.99, Tom Taylor/Mikel Janin): Clark Kent: Murderer begins. Clark is accused of murder and jailed, and Batman's investigation turns up more evidence condemning him than clearing him. The solicit says the arc could redefine the World's Finest relationship. Taylor and Janin on the new story.
Ben 10 #1 (rumor-based) (Dynamite, $20.00, Joe Casey/Robert Carey): the angle here is a Dynamite.com exclusive virgin cover by Lucas Lee Garza, limited edition with allocations possible. Watch tier, reader's call on the exclusive.

2000 AD Prog #2512 (rumor-based) (Rebellion, $7.99): this Prog carries the publisher-confirmed conclusion of the Judge Dredd: The New Future storyline, solicited to have major ramifications for Mega-City One. The follow-up to A Better World changes Dredd forever per the solicit.

HOW TO READ THE FLAGS

Each flag says what the research found on the book before the cutoff.

  • Confirmed: the publisher's own solicit, preview pages, or an official announcement backs the claim for this exact book and issue. Anything less is Likely (several rumor-class sources agree), Unverified (nothing proves it either way), or marked rumor-based in the text.
  • Potential First: a source or the solicit says a character or version debuts here. It stays "potential" until the book is in hand. Reprints and facsimiles are never counted as firsts.
  • Buzz Flag: more than one source is talking about the book. It measures chatter, not truth.
  • Priority Books: our two top tiers. Hot Spec is a confirmed potential first or a confirmed origin story. High Priority is a potential first that only rumor or chatter backs so far, or a confirmed key event (a death, a milestone, a crossover) without a first.
  • Watch: chatter from more than one source, a confirmed event by itself, a 1:50 or higher ratio, or a #1 carrying an unverified claim.
  • With Intel: the book has a written spec summary, of any status.
  • Ratio Variant: a cover a shop gets only by ordering a set number of the regular cover. 1:25 means one per twenty-five.
