Welcome to Multiverse of Heroes
My name's James. I've been collecting comics and pop culture stuff since I was a kid in Hawaii. My first comic was a Star Wars #1 my dad bought me at the Aloha Stadium swap meet when I was about eight. I didn't know what bags and boards were, didn't know about key issues, but I kept every single one. Most of those books I still have today.
I've drifted in and out of collecting the way most people do. Real life, jobs, becoming a father. Spawn pulled me back in during the 90s, Marvel getting the Star Wars license back brought me to the table again around 2015, and somewhere after 2020 I discovered FOC ordering and everything changed. I realized the research was the bottleneck, and that realization eventually turned into what we're building here.
Multiverse of Heroes started as a side business in 2017 under a different name (Sin City Collections, which everyone assumed was a debt collection agency, so that didn't last). I rebranded in 2022, trademarked the name, and started thinking seriously about what this could become. My son Koa handles photography, inventory, and listing. He grew up sitting on my lap while I gamed, turned into a serious comics reader, and a couple years ago said he wanted in. His favorite superhero is Spider-Man. He's deep into the Absolute Universe, the Ultimate Universe, all things Star Wars. He probably knows more Star Wars lore than I do at this point.
Every comic has a Final Order Cutoff, the last day retailers can adjust their orders before a book goes to print. Once FOC closes on Monday, that's it. If a book heats up after that, shops can't order more. That's how books become instant sellouts, and the collectors who know what's hot before FOC closes are the ones who get them.
I built FOC Intelligence because I was spending hours every week trying to piece together that information myself. Three distributors, scattered data, rumors flying around on social media. I figured if I could solve that problem for myself, other collectors and small shop owners probably needed the same thing. We aggregate the data, layer spec intelligence on top, and deliver it before FOC closes. It's free to start. Here's how it works.
Every week on The Long Box, we publish a FOC Drop on Tuesday (the full title breakdown, what stands out, what to watch), a Spec Watch on Sunday (verified spec intel and first appearances before Monday cutoff), and The Verdict on Thursday (looking back at what came out Wednesday, comparing what we said to what actually happened). It's the same research I'd be doing anyway, just packaged so other people can use it too.
I'm not a developer. I have no technical background. Everything here, the platform, the data pipeline, the automation, was figured out through persistence, the right tools, and a lot of late nights. The difference now is that the tools finally caught up to the vision. I had the idea for years. I finally had a way to build it.
