One late book shouldn't hold up your whole order.
Every book ships the week it comes out, billed one week at a time, nothing up front.
That's the preorder service we built, and we're taking applications from collectors who want to test it with us before we open it to everyone. We'll invite the first group on Tuesday, November 10, so they have almost a week with the list before their first order closes on Monday, November 16.
With most comic preorders, your whole order ships together. Order 20 books, and if one is delayed two weeks, all 20 wait. I've had books show up three weeks after release. The one shop I knew that shipped each week's books that week was Things From Another World (TFAW), and since they closed I couldn't find anyone who does.
So we built it. Add books to your pull box from our FOC list, and change them until noon Pacific on their FOC day (usually a Monday). FOC is the final order cutoff: the last day a shop can order a book. About 9 days before a week's books come out, we email one bill for that week's box: your books at 10% off cover, plus $7.98 shipping, free over $75. Pay it, and the box ships the week those books come out. If a book is delayed, it moves to the box for its new week (no extra shipping if you already paid), and the rest of your books still ship on time. Want fewer boxes? You can choose to ship monthly instead.
And you order right from our FOC list. We built it because we shop our own comics by FOC and couldn't find one place that had it all: hundreds of books each week, the day each one closes, and our notes on which ones are heating up and why. Sort it down to just Marvel, just ratio variants, or just new #1s. Insiders (our paid plan, free for testers) can also sort to potential firsts and books with rumors. Your research and your order live on one page: find a book, add it to your pull box right there.
Every week, 400 to 800 new books go on our FOC list, covers and variants counted. Over 250 publishers and imprints have had books on it since March.
Why Start With a Test
A preorder service is only as good as the everyday parts: the bill comes when we said it would, the box ships the week we said it would, and a delayed book gets handled without you having to ask. Before we open preorders to everyone, we want a small group to use them for real and give us feedback and ideas.
Founding Testers Go First
What you get: Insider free for as long as the test runs (1 to 3 months), then 90 more days free after it ends. After that, your account goes back to free unless you choose to keep Insider. Insider shows our spec notes on the FOC list before each FOC closes; it's normally $14.99 a month. Already an Insider? Join anyway: we pause your billing for the free time.
What we ask: order at least 3 books a month while the test runs, and answer 3 quick questions after each box.
US addresses only. We're starting small and adding more people as needed. Apply by Sunday, November 8 to be considered for the first group. If you don't make the first group, you stay on the waitlist for the next one.
Answer 10 short questions. If you're picked for the first group, we'll email your invite on Tuesday, November 10.
