Two confirmed potential firsts anchor this week's FOC: Giant Size Youngblood with five new characters out of Liefeld, and Sonic The Hedgehog #89 with the debut of Blackwood the Ermine heading into the road to #100. Both close FOC Monday, so anyone carrying these series will want the order locked before then.

Per STATS: 6 Priority Books, 11 Confirmed Rumors, 13 With Intel. The Youngblood book is the one carrying a confirmed verification status plus the Hot Spec flag, which is the rare combination of "this is real" and "this matters." The rest of the slate runs from a Williamson-confirmed Zod return in Action Comics to a Clootopia FCBD-style oddity that may or may not be what its promo claims.

PRIORITY PICKS
Giant Size Youngblood
Giant Size Youngblood (Image Comics, $6.99, Liefeld/Liefeld): five confirmed potential firsts in one oversized one-shot, with the team investigating a mysterious island and its inhabitants. This is the only book on the slate carrying both Hot Spec and a confirmed verification status, so the five new characters are not rumor, they are in the issue. Liefeld writing and drawing his own Youngblood book is the read that the audience already knows. Worth a closer look at the order on this one before FOC closes Monday.
Sonic The Hedgehog #89
Sonic The Hedgehog #89 (IDW Publishing, $4.99, Evan Stanley): the likely potential first of Blackwood the Ermine, who welcomes Silver and Blaze into his castle under an air of civility that the description openly flags as a front. The gothic-mansion mystery kicks off the arc on the road to #100. High Priority tier here, and the IDW Sonic run has a track record of new-character debuts that the collector base chases. Shops carrying this series may want to review their order ladder.
Clootopia #1
Clootopia #1 (High-Vibrational Pirates, $4.99, Williams/Molina): the angle here is the unverified promo claim that this is the first comic book appearance of George Clooney, where a heartbroken fan hatches a legally ambiguous plan after Clooney announces his engagement. High Priority and Buzz flagged. The premise is built around the real-life Clooney name, so treat the "first appearance" promo language as the publisher's hook, not a confirmed key. Reader's call on this one.
Action Comics #1100
Action Comics #1100 (DC Comics, $6.99, Various/Various): Joshua Williamson confirmed the return of General Zod in this landmark issue, with Waid, Campbell, and Slott also contributing across art from Sampere, Sook, Mora, and Meyer. The Zod beat is the spec event, not the issue number. Confirmed verification status, which keeps this off the rumor pile.
ON THE RADAR
DCs Hawk-Girl Summer #1
DCs Hawk-Girl Summer #1 (DC Comics, $9.99, Various/Various): a confirmed Jason Todd appearance is the signal in this anthology one-shot, alongside Catwoman, Grace Choi, Thunder, and the Female Furies across stories from Fitzmartin, Scott, Trujillo, and others. High Priority on the Todd beat. The $9.99 price tag is worth weighing against the single-appearance draw.
Event Horizon: Inferno #4
Event Horizon: Inferno #4 (IDW Publishing, $4.99, Christian Ward): confirmed first appearance of a mysterious spider-form figure aboard the haunted starship, with the issue framed as the ship telling its own story. Watch tier. Ward on a horror property is the draw, and the spider figure is the spec hook the description leans into.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 (Marvel Comics, $4.99, Bryan Hill): a new era #1 with Hill writing, where a villain from Jeff Morales' SHIELD past threatens the whole Morales family. The new-villains-from-the-Spider-Verse angle is the spec read here. Watch tier, but a Miles relaunch #1 is a number people track regardless.
Odin #3
Odin #3 (Image Comics, $3.99, Tynion IV/Cadonici): Tynion and Bennett continue the doomed-expedition horror with the old gods of the woods, Cadonici on interiors and Bellaire on color. There is a 1:10 ratio in the mix. Tynion on a creator-owned horror book is the angle, and #3 is still early enough to fill in a run.
Power Rangers Unlimited #2
Power Rangers Unlimited #2 (Boom! Studios, $6.99, Esposito/Porter): Andros and Karone face a ghostlike enemy on a haunted satellite, and the description states a villain makes its first-ever appearance. There is a 1:20 Yoshitani incentive here. Watch tier. The new villain plus the ratio variant are the two things to weigh on the order.
RUMOR WATCH
Street Fighter Masters Juri #1
Street Fighter Masters Juri #1 (rumor-based) (Udon Entertainment, $4.99, Warren/Weldon): unconfirmed fan speculation centers on the identity of a new character, NeoJuri, and a possible M. Bison return. The solicit teases both, but neither is locked. Adam Warren writing a Juri one-shot is the verified part. The NeoJuri identity is the wildcard, so treat the spec accordingly.

Minor Arcana #17 (rumor-based) (Boom! Studios, $4.99, Jeff Lemire). No solicit text or confirmed spec event on this one, just Lemire writing and drawing his ongoing. Watch tier. The Lemire name is the reason it is here, and the run has held a steady readership, so completionists tracking the series have it on the radar without a specific key to chase.

More signal.
Less noise.
