What DNX is

In Marvel's setup, the Chairman, an older and amoral Hank McCoy (the original Beast), leads a group called 3K. Their plan is to release the X-Virus, which would turn ordinary people into mutants against their will. Cyclops and the X-Men try to stop them, with help from the Fantastic Four.

Marvel says the plan has been building since the first issue of Jed MacKay's X-Men run, which started in 2024. Two X-Men issues set it up in August, DNX #1 came out September 2, and DNX #5 ends it on November 18.

DNX is written by Jed MacKay and drawn by Federico Vicentini, with main covers by Kaare Andrews. The tie-ins come from two ongoing series: X-Men, also written by MacKay and drawn by Netho Diaz and Tony Daniel, and Fantastic Four, written by Ryan North and drawn by Vincenzo Carratù.

The reading order

The five DNX issues carry the main story (marked Core). The X-Men and Fantastic Four issues are the tie-ins; Marvel's guide quotes MacKay saying those two series are the only ones. Click a book to open it: Marvel's description, the writer and every cover. Then click a cover to see it full size.

How we built this order: this is Marvel's own reading order, as published. See it here.

Core: the main story. Tie-in: a side story told in another series. Shop orders: the last day a shop can order a book from Marvel, so tell your shop a few days before it. After that the book still comes out on its date; ask your shop to hold a copy. 1:25 on a cover: shops get one copy of that cover for every 25 copies they order, so those covers are scarcer and usually sell for more than cover price. Virgin: the cover art with no logo or text on it. Connecting cover: covers from different books that join into one picture. Blank sketch cover: a white cover made for an artist to draw on. Blind bag: a sealed bag; you don't know which cover is inside until you open it.
