Marvel's mutant line anchors the week, with the X-Virus storyline launching as the publisher's central push. DC's slate splits between its Absolute line and an Elseworlds relaunch this week. The single launch is the return of Tom Taylor's Elseworlds fantasy series, with the Absolute books carrying the ongoing-chapter volume. Badrock #1 (Image, $4.99, Rob Liefeld/Seth Damoose). The launch is Image's one new #1 this week, spinning the Youngblood member into his own solo series. When Badrock's mom is abducted, he is forced to submit to the demands of her mysterious abductors.

Dorc #6 (Image, $3.99, Brett Bean). The issue opens a new story arc and anchors a 1:50 ratio on the slate. D'orc learns that Fate is a wise-cracking creature living inside the crystal the Bone Witch trapped him in, and must decide to flee or fight as danger closes in.

M1 Monster Racing League #2 (Image, $3.99, Robert Windom/Jae Lee). Jae Lee's sci-fi series continues here as part of Image's creator-owned volume. Dev's reign over the underground car racing league ends when the competition gets W-YLD, set in a near-future Tokyo.

The issue serves as a prelude to the next Space Ghost adventure, where the guardians prepare to meet the Herculoids.

Oni Press — 24 titles. Led by Super Mondo Mega Mutts #1 (Oni Press, $6.99, Curt Pires/Juan Gedeon), a double-sized 40-page debut for a team of anthropomorphic antiheroes. After an interdimensional fragment collides with downtown LA, the government sends four research animals into the no-man's-land codenamed The Gleam.
