Reference to the destruction of the DC Universe. Nic Klein variant cover.
Thor Vol. 6 #2 arrives as part of Donny Cates and Nic Klein's acclaimed 2020 run, the second chapter of the story arc 'The Devourer King.' The issue's title, 'Lightning and Hunger,' signals the collision course between Thor and Galactus that defines this arc, with Cates scripting a Thor who has newly assumed the mantle of All-Father and Klein's art delivering both cosmic scale and visceral weight throughout.
This is the 4th printing, with cover art by Nic Klein, whose interior work on the series made him one of the more distinctive visual voices in Marvel's 2020 output. The issue carries a story-event key: a reference to the destruction of the DC Universe, a moment that gave the issue particular attention among collectors when it first circulated. Featured characters include Galactus, Balder the Brave, and Volstagg. The story arc 'The Devourer King' runs across the opening issues of this volume and established Cates and Klein's Thor as a genuine creative statement rather than a routine handoff.
