1st full appearance of Arkham Knight. David Finch variant cover.
Detective Comics #1001 marks a milestone issue for DC's longest-running title, arriving as Peter J. Tomasi takes over the book and immediately introduces the Arkham Knight into DC's main continuity. This is the first full appearance of the Arkham Knight, a character previously known from the 2015 Rocksteady video game, now fully realized in print. The issue opens a new chapter for Batman in Gotham and gives the character a definitive comic book debut.
The B variant carries a cover by David Finch, a longtime Batman artist known for Batman: The Dark Knight and Batman Vol. 2. His cover brings that dark, heavily rendered style to this issue. Brad Walker handles interior pencils with inking by Andrew Hennessy.
This is a first-printing copy in raw, ungraded condition. The issue ships with a standard $3.99 cover price and runs 36 pages.
