1st appearance of Liar Liar (Emma Lord). David Marquez regular cover.
Wonder Woman #759 marks the debut of writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Mikel Janin on the title, a fresh creative team taking the reins of DC's flagship Wonder Woman series at issue 759 of Volume 5. This is the regular Cover A, featuring David Marquez's cover art, and the first printing of the issue. The story, titled 'I Walk The Line,' introduces Liar Liar (Emma Lord), the daughter of Maxwell Lord, in her first comics appearance. Liar Liar's debut makes this issue a key book in the Wonder Woman corner of the DC Universe.
The Tamaki/Janin run was positioned as a genuine fresh start for Diana, and the first-appearance hook gave collectors an immediate reason to track down the initial printing. DC's announcement of a second printing with a recolored Marquez cover shows the demand the issue generated on release. This CGC 9.8 slab is the top census grade, giving the copy the best possible presentation for a book that already carries first-appearance significance.
