1st appearance of Luna Snow, Wave, Aero, Crescent and Io; 1st team appearance of the new Agents of Atlas. Billy Tan cover.
War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1 is the opening issue of Marvel's 2019 four-issue miniseries, written by Greg Pak with interior art by Gang-Hyuk Lim and a cover by Billy Tan. Launched as a tie-in to the War of the Realms event, the book assembles a team of Asian and Asian-American heroes under Jimmy Woo to defend the continent against the Fire Demon invasion led by Sindr. It is the first team appearance of the new Agents of Atlas lineup, which brought together characters from across Marvel's publishing history alongside newly introduced figures.
This issue carries substantial first-appearance significance. It is the first appearance of Crescent and Io, the first appearance of Luna Snow in comics, the first appearance of Wave, and the first appearance of Aero, making it one of the more loaded debut issues Marvel published in the modern era. The assembled cast also includes Shang-Chi, Silk (Cindy Moon), Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), Amadeus Cho, and Sword Master alongside the newly introduced characters, giving the book immediate depth alongside its introductory work.
Billy Tan's Cover A is the regular first-print cover for the issue. Subsequent printings exist, and additional variant covers were produced, but this is the standard direct-edition first printing. Greg Pak's script and Lim's art deliver a fast-paced, character-driven debut that sets the team's dynamic clearly while fitting within the broader War of the Realms event framework.
