1st appearance of Vengeance and 1st team appearance of the Sampson family. Francesco Mattina 2nd print cover, the 1st cover appearance of Vengeance.
The Joker Vol. 2 #2 is the key issue in James Tynion IV and Sam Johns' 2021 DC series that repositions Jim Gordon as the Joker's hunter following the events at Arkham Asylum. This second printing carries a variant cover by Francesco Mattina, whose high-contrast, painterly style became one of the most recognizable cover aesthetics on DC's line during this era. Interior art is by Guillem March, with Mirka Andolfo handling the Punchline backup.
The issue holds two confirmed firsts: the first appearance of Vengeance, the daughter of Bane, and the first team appearance of the Sampson family. Both land in this issue, making it the entry point for characters who factor into the ongoing story across the run. DC issued a second printing to meet demand for the issue, with Mattina providing the new cover art.
The full cast here includes Batman, Commissioner Gordon, the Joker, Punchline, and Bluebird alongside the debut characters. The series launched as part of DC's 2021 slate and the second printing was on sale April 13, 2021.
