Part of the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary Publishing Wave, this Fan Channel exclusive brings one of the most distinctive characters from the 1997 Dark Horse Comics miniseries Crimson Empire into the Black Series for the first time in 6-inch scale. Crimson Empire, written by Mike Richardson and Randy Stradley with art by Paul Gulacy, follows the last loyal Emperor's Royal Guardsman on a blood oath mission of vengeance through the chaos of the post-Return of the Jedi galaxy. The figure comes packaged in a book-style box designed to evoke the original comic with cover art and interior story strips, making it one of the more distinctive presentations in the line.

Collector note: Hasbro labeled this figure as Carnor Jax, but the figure — red armor with purple-lined soft-goods cape — is actually Kir Kanos. The two characters are both Royal Guardsmen from the same series but have different color schemes in the comics. Hasbro acknowledged the error after fan feedback but was too far along in production to make corrections. The packaging reads Carnor Jax; the figure is Kir Kanos. It's a well-documented production quirk and part of this figure's collector story. The soft-goods cape features striking purple interior lining and is fixed to the helmet; neither is removable.
