1st cameo appearance of She-Spawn. Todd McFarlane black-and-white cover.
Spawn #300 is the issue that carried the series past Cerebus as the longest-running creator-owned comic book in history. Todd McFarlane drew interior pages for this issue, joined by Greg Capullo, Jason Shawn Alexander, J. Scott Campbell, and Jerome Opeña. The lead story brings Al Simmons's long-running plans to a head, reveals who killed Wanda, introduces the Reaper, and closes on a sharp cliffhanger into #301.
Cover B is McFarlane's own cover rendered in black and white, a stark presentation that strips away color and lets the line work carry the image. The issue also contains the first cameo appearance of She-Spawn, with Jessica Priest stepping into the role that will carry the character forward. Scott Snyder contributes a backup story alongside the primary material.
This is a first printing of the standard Cover B black-and-white variant, published by Image Comics in September 2019.
