1st appearance of Godsend, a member of the Rapture. Todd McFarlane virgin cover.
Spawn #293B is the Todd McFarlane Virgin Cover variant of Spawn #293, published by Image Comics in 2019. The virgin format strips away trade dress entirely, presenting McFarlane's cover art without title logo, issue number, or any other overlay, giving the image the same unobstructed presentation as a fine-art print. This is part of a recurring virgin cover program McFarlane ran across the Spawn line in the 290s, making these issues a consistent target for fans who collect his cover work specifically.
Issue #293 is written by Todd McFarlane with interior art by Jason Shawn Alexander, whose dense, painterly linework defined the look of Spawn during this stretch of the run. The book carries a key-issue designation for the first appearance of Godsend, a member of the Rapture, making the underlying issue itself a draw for readers tracking new character introductions in the Spawn mythology. The virgin variant packages that key-issue content with McFarlane's unobstructed cover art, a combination that appeals both to run collectors and to fans building a McFarlane cover gallery.
