1st appearance of Godsend, a member of the Rapture. Francesco Mattina regular cover.
Spawn #293 is the first appearance of Godsend, a member of the Rapture, making it a key issue within Todd McFarlane's long-running Image Comics series. McFarlane has written the book throughout its modern era, and Jason Shawn Alexander provides the interior art, while Francesco Mattina delivers the Regular A cover. Mattina's painted, high-contrast cover style became one of the defining looks of Spawn during this period, setting his issues apart on the shelf.
The Rapture storyline brought new mythology to the Spawn universe, and Godsend's introduction here is the kind of supporting-cast first that rewards readers tracking the series as it built toward the historic #300 milestone. This is the standard A cover edition, the first printing, priced at the original $2.99 cover price.
