Shane Carwin had one of the most physically imposing presences in UFC heavyweight history, a former Division I wrestler and engineer by trade whose knockout power made him one of the few fighters who genuinely threatened Brock Lesnar's dominance at the top of the division. Round 5 captured him at that peak moment in his career with this Series 5 entry in the UFC Ultimate Collector line, released in 2011 when Carwin was among the most recognizable names in heavyweight MMA.
Round 5's UFC Ultimate Collector figures were designed for fans who wanted more than a generic sports toy. The line emphasized fighter likeness and packaging presentation, with each release featuring fighter photos and biographical detail on the card. Series 5 arrived during a strong period for the line and includes fighters from across the UFC's heavyweight and light heavyweight rosters. The Shane Carwin figure carries the same attention to fighter-specific detail that made the Ultimate Collector series a go-to for UFC collectors in the early 2010s.
The card back plays it straight: an engineer by trade, all business in the cage, the hulking former NCAA champion whose bouts nearly all ended by knockout or submission inside the first round. A photo montage tracks the run: Christian Wellisch at UFC 84, Neil Wain at UFC 89, Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 96, and Frank Mir at UFC 111 for the interim heavyweight title. The also-available panel shares the wave with the Shogun Rua releases, and the packaging carries no Limited Edition markings; this is the standard Series 5 release, sealed with the hologram sticker on the back panel.
