1st appearance of Pitt. Dale Keown cover.
Pitt #1 is the first appearance of Pitt, the massive half-human, half-alien warrior created by Dale Keown and published by Image Comics in January 1993. The issue launched Pitt's solo series at the height of the Image founders era, when creator-owned superhero titles were reshaping the industry. Brian Hotton wrote the debut, with the interior pencils and the imposing cover both credited in research to Dale Keown, whose hyper-detailed, heavily muscled character design made Pitt one of the most visually distinctive figures to come out of the Image launch wave.
The story, titled 'Fight & Flight!', introduces Pitt alongside Timmy Bracken and Grandpa Bracken, establishing the human relationships that would run through the series. The issue exists in multiple editions, including a direct market version and a newsstand edition, with an ashcan variant also documented. This copy is the standard edition. As the first appearance of Pitt and issue #1 of the series, it is the foundational piece for any collection built around the character or the early Image era.
