Partial origin issue: Naomi learns her adopted father is an alien. Jamal Campbell cover.
Naomi #3 is the third issue of the 2019 Wonder Comics series by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker, and Jamal Campbell, published under the DC Comics imprint. The issue marks a pivotal turn in Naomi McDuffie's investigation into the mystery surrounding her adoption and the day Superman briefly appeared in Port Oswego. This is the issue where Naomi learns that her adopted father is an alien, a partial origin revelation that reframes everything she believed about her family and her connection to the superhero world.
Jamal Campbell handles both the interior art and the cover, and his clean, expressive linework and vivid color sense are central to what makes this series visually distinct from the broader DC line. The Wonder Comics imprint, co-launched by Bendis, was designed to be entry-friendly while still carrying real weight for longtime readers, and Naomi hit that balance better than almost anything else in the line. Issue #3 is where the series transitions from mystery setup into genuine revelation territory.
