Marvel Iron Man Repulsor Red Prototype, Target Excl., Hasbro '08

Released in 2008 to coincide with the first Iron Man feature film, the Repulsor Red Prototype is one of the more striking figures from Hasbro's movie tie-in line. The Repulsor Red colorway swaps the familiar red-and-gold film armor for a deep crimson prototype finish, giving the figure a distinctly different character from the standard movie releases and making it one of the more sought-after variants from the original wave. Produced as a Target Exclusive, it was available only through that retailer, which limited its distribution and kept quantities tighter than the mainline assortment.

The action gimmick is fully mechanical: a detachable repulsor blaster attachment fits over the figure's forearm and press-launches a translucent repulsor blast projectile, illustrated step by step on the card back. The card wears both the blue Limited Edition flash and the Only At Target badge, and the figure carries the 03 number in the line's numbering. No electronics on this release; the appeal is the colorway and the exclusivity, not a feature package.
