Tony S. Daniel variant cover.
Catwoman Vol. 5 #8 is part of Joelle Jones's acclaimed run on the character, a series that relocated Selina Kyle to Villa Hermosa and placed her in a noir-inflected corner of the DC universe largely separate from the main Gotham books. Issue #8 falls within the 'Something Smells Fishy' story arc, which brings Penguin into Selina's orbit as she navigates the criminal politics of her new city. The variant B cover is a Tony S. Daniel piece, and Daniel's work on Catwoman during this era is among the more striking cover assignments of the run; his figure work lends Selina a sleek, dangerous quality that suits the book's tone.
Tony S. Daniel is a veteran DC cover and interior artist with a long history on Batman-family titles, and his variant covers for this volume consistently stand apart from the standard editions. This is the direct market variant, cover B, identified by barcode 76194135682200821. The issue shipped in February 2019 with a cover date of April 2019 and a cover price of $3.99.
