Star Wars Saga Collection #043 Emperor Palpatine, Hasbro '06

Figure #043 in The Saga Collection's Battle of Endor wave, depicting Emperor Palpatine as he appeared in Return of the Jedi. A slight retool and repaint of the 2003 Throne Room sculpt, with a newly tooled right hand that accepts the peg of the included cane. Two small Force lightning effects are also included and fit into either hand for posing. Articulation is minimal — ball-jointed shoulders, swivel wrists, and a swivel waist — and the oversized hood is a known aesthetic limitation of this sculpt that many collectors found frustrating given the superior options Hasbro had available at the time. Honest assessment: the accessories are the main reason to pick this up; the figure itself is widely considered the weakest entry in the Battle of Endor wave.
