First appearance of Sword Master. Woo Dae Shim regular cover.
War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #2 is the second chapter of Greg Pak's 2019 limited series spinning out of Marvel's War of the Realms crossover event. The issue carries the story arc title 'Fire and Ice, Chapter Two' and brings together a pan-Asian roster of heroes including Shang-Chi, Silk (Cindy Moon), and Jimmy Woo, united against the Frost Giants threatening their corner of the Marvel Universe. Cover art is by Woo Dae Shim, the standard A cover for the issue.
The issue marks the first appearance of Sword Master, the Chinese hero Lin Lie, making it a genuine key in the context of Marvel's expanding roster of Asian characters. Sword Master went on to headline the follow-up Agents of Atlas series and has remained a part of Marvel's ongoing publishing slate, giving this issue lasting significance beyond its crossover context.
Interior art is by Gang Hyuk Lim, whose clean, dynamic linework suits the globe-spanning, high-action tone Pak establishes across the series. As a War of the Realms tie-in, the issue is part of that 2019 crossover while functioning as a standalone introduction to the New Agents lineup, which made it a notable debut vehicle for characters who have since become fixtures of Marvel's publishing output.
