Reference to the destruction of the DC Universe. Olivier Coipel cover.
Thor, Vol. 6 #2 is part of Donny Cates and Nic Klein's 2020 relaunch of the Thunder God, a run that repositioned Thor as king of Asgard while folding in cosmic-scale threats and mythology at an ambitious pace. Issue #2 carries a story-event key: a reference to the destruction of the DC Universe, a moment that has given this issue staying power among continuity-focused collectors tracking the broader Marvel cosmology.
This is the third printing, distinguished by the Olivier Coipel cover. Coipel is one of the definitive Thor artists of the modern era, and his cover work here reflects the gravitas the Cates run aimed for from its opening issues. The third printing arrived on July 22, 2020, priced at $3.99. Characters featured across the issue include Galactus, Balder the Brave, and Volstagg.
