Thor becomes the Herald of Thunder. Nic Klein Party Variant cover.
Thor, Vol. 6 #1 launched Donny Cates and Nic Klein's run on the God of Thunder in January 2020, opening with Thor assuming the mantle of the Herald of Thunder and stepping into a new cosmic conflict following peace in the Ten Realms. The issue is the start of what became one of the most discussed Thor runs in years, with Cates reframing the character's mythological weight against a genuinely threatening cosmic scale. Cover G is the Party Variant, with cover art by Nic Klein, the same artist who drew the interior pages, giving this version a cohesion between cover and story that many variants lack.
Nic Klein's work on this run is dense and atmospheric, built on a palette that leans into the cold blues and deep golds of Asgard without sacrificing forward momentum in the panel-to-panel storytelling. His Party Variant cover for #1 is a collector-targeted piece issued alongside the main cover run at launch. Characters appearing in the issue include Captain America (Steve Rogers), She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters), and the Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd), broadening the cosmic scope right from the opening chapter.
This is a raw, ungraded copy of the Party Variant (Cover G). Condition is as photographed.
