Thor, Vol. 6 #1 launched Donny Cates and Nic Klein's run with Thor sitting the throne of Asgard as king and, per the events of this issue, becoming the Herald of Thunder. The story arc 'The Devourer King' sets the stakes for what follows, establishing Cates's vision of a Thor who is more cosmically burdened and more powerful than most prior takes on the character. Klein's line work and cover design defined the visual identity of the run from the first issue.
This copy is the 3rd Printing Nic Klein Trade Dress Variant, released in September 2020. Later printings of this first issue appeared as the run built an audience, and this variant carries Klein's own trade dress design. The Cates and Klein Thor run ran through 2023, and this debut issue remains the entry point for the full arc.
