Round 5's UFC Ultimate Collector line set the standard for MMA action figures in the late 2000s and early 2010s, and the Series 5 Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua Championship Edition is one of the more desirable releases in that run. Rua was at or near the peak of his career when this figure dropped, having captured the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and cementing himself as one of the most feared strikers in the sport. The Championship Edition designation distinguishes this release from the standard Series 5 Rua figure, making it a natural target for collectors building out complete sets of the line.
This edition commemorates the night Shogun settled the score with Lyoto Machida at UFC 113, avenging a narrow, controversial decision loss by knocking Machida out in the first round to take the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. The card back retells the fight with a photo sequence from the bout, and the package includes a championship belt accessory alongside the figure, which is sculpted in black UFC gloves and white Shogun fight trunks under gold Championship Edition trade dress.
For collectors it pairs naturally with the PRIDE edition release of the same fighter; the two cards bookend Rua's story across both organizations. Sealed on card with the hologram sticker on the back panel.
