Mike Deodato Jr. regular cover.
Berserker Unbound #1 opens the four-issue Dark Horse Comics miniseries by writer Jeff Lemire and artist Mike Deodato Jr. The premise drops a sword-and-sorcery warrior out of his own brutal world and into a modern metropolis, where he must confront an evil wizard on entirely foreign terrain. It is a collision-of-worlds setup that lets Lemire work in stripped-down genre fiction while Deodato Jr. brings the visceral, heavy linework he has spent years refining across superhero and war titles.
The regular Cover A is by Mike Deodato Jr., making this the standard first-issue cover for the run. The series was announced at ECCC 2019 and went on sale August 7, 2019, positioned as one of Dark Horse's creator-driven launches for that summer. No key-issue milestone (first appearance, death, origin) has been confirmed for this issue beyond its status as the debut chapter of the miniseries.
