Star Wars Saga Series #38 Chewbacca, Cloud City Capture, Hasbro '02

Figure #38 from the 2002 Star Wars Saga Series Phase I line, depicting Chewbacca during the Cloud City sequence in The Empire Strikes Back — guarding the disassembled remains of C-3PO after the protocol droid was blasted apart by Imperial Stormtroopers. An all-new Chewbacca sculpt with ball-jointed shoulders and swivel biceps, though fixed-angle elbows limit meaningful posing. The standout of this set is unquestionably the C-3PO accessory: three separately sculpted battle-damaged parts (head, torso, and limbs pile) with a light-up feature — pressing the head down into the body illuminates the back panel and photoreceptors. The soft-goods cargo net is woven and designed to house all three C-3PO parts, closely recreating the iconic scene of Chewie carrying the dismantled droid through Cloud City. Many collectors consider this the finest modern stand-in for the vintage 1982 Kenner C-3PO (Removable Limbs) figure. The included E-11 blaster is a minor accuracy note — Chewbacca used his bowcaster in the film, not an Imperial blaster.
