Star Wars Saga Series #24 Jar Jar Binks, Gungan Senator, Hasbro '02

Figure #24 from the 2002 Star Wars Saga Series Phase I line, depicting Jar Jar Binks in his ceremonial Gungan senatorial robes as seen in Attack of the Clones — the character who was manipulated into proposing the motion that granted Chancellor Palpatine emergency powers. An all-new sculpt presenting the character in a more formal, politically restrained context than his Episode I depictions, though the pre-posed twisted stance undercuts that intent and limits display versatility considerably. The plastic robes are molded and not removable. Accessories include a Gungan electropole and a flexible electroshock effect that wraps around the pole — both sourced from what appears to be a deleted scene rather than anything visible on screen in the theatrical cut. The figure cannot hold the electropole in its hands due to the pre-posed arm sculpt, so it functions primarily as a separate prop. This remains the only basic-line 3.75" release of Jar Jar in his AOTC senatorial outfit.
