Shane Carwin built one of the most devastating resumes in UFC heavyweight history, finishing nearly every opponent in the first round before they could get off the ground. A two-time NCAA Division II wrestling champion and practicing mechanical engineer outside the cage, Carwin brought a rare combination of elite athleticism and technical discipline to the heavyweight division. This figure from Round 5's UFC Ultimate Collector Series 5 captures him in his fighting stance, the card back tracing his rise through the heavyweight ranks: his demolition of Christian Wellisch at UFC 84, the follow-up win over Neil Wain at UFC 89, the statement win over Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 96, and his UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship performance against Frank Mir at UFC 111.
Series 5 was originally released in octagon-shaped clam shell packaging. A small secondary run of approximately 667 units per figure was produced in standard square blister packaging; this is one of those square-packaged figures, which are considered the rarer and more sought-after variant by collectors. A separate Limited Edition version depicting Carwin in a Warrior International t-shirt was produced in a run of 1,000; this is the standard fighting stance figure.
