Spawn Series 1 Clown, Todd Toys '94

The Clown is one of six figures that made up Spawn Series 1, the debut wave from Todd Toys released in 1994. In the Spawn mythology, the Clown is the human disguise of the Violator, a demon assigned to corrupt Al Simmons and one of the most memorable antagonists in the early Spawn comics. This figure captures that dual identity directly: it ships with a standard Clown head and a swap-in Violator monster head, letting you display the character in either form. The turkey leg club and a special edition comic book round out the package, which was typical of the Spawn Series 1 value proposition.

Todd Toys launched with Spawn Series 1, and the line immediately distinguished itself from the mass-market action figure norm of the era. The sculpts were more detailed, the characters were darker, and the accessories were tied to specific story moments rather than generic weapons. Clown fits squarely in that mold: the figure is designed around a character with a specific narrative role, and the interchangeable heads are a direct nod to the Violator transformation that readers knew from the comic. At approximately 5 inches tall, the figure scales with the rest of Series 1.

Spawn Series 1 figures from 1994 are now three decades old, and surviving examples complete with both heads and the original comic book are increasingly difficult to find.
