Star Wars TVC #VC296 Grand Admiral Thrawn, Rebels, Hasbro '23

VC296 from the 2023 Star Wars Vintage Collection, depicting Grand Admiral Thrawn as seen in Star Wars: Rebels — the brilliant Chiss strategist tasked with dismantling the rebellion on Lothal. Created by Timothy Zahn in the 1991 novel Heir to the Empire, Thrawn is widely considered the most beloved Expanded Universe character, and the success of Zahn's Thrawn trilogy is credited with motivating George Lucas to develop the Prequel Trilogy. This is the first super-articulated single-card 3.75-inch Thrawn, surpassing the earlier POTF2 release and the Legacy Collection Comic Pack two-pack. A retool of the 2023 TVC Admiral Piett (VC270) base with an all-new portrait, torso (featuring the Grand Admiral rank badge, four code cylinders, and gold shoulder bars), tighter upper legs, new hands, and a new skirt section with an integrated holster for the RK-3 blaster pistol. The portrait is a realistic interpretation and reads more as an EU-style Thrawn than a direct animated likeness. Collector note: the elbow joint range on this sculpt is limited and prevents the iconic "hand to chin" contemplating pose. A later Ahsoka-based version (VC337) using this sculpt as a base was released in 2024. 27 points of premium articulation.
