Studios in September 2020. The series is built around a singular premise: in a universe where humanity has spread across the stars and survives by harvesting the corpses of enormous alien gods drifting through space, one captain and his crew pursue something no one else is chasing, the first living god ever found. The premise fuses cosmic horror and hard-SF survival into something that does not map cleanly onto anything else in the medium.

Cover A carries Simone Di Meo's own artwork, the same artist who draws the interiors, making this the primary cover and the one most directly tied to the book's visual identity. Di Meo's style runs dense with color and kinetic line work, and the cover announces that aesthetic from the first issue. This is the standard first-printing retail copy distributed through comic shops and the BOOM! Studios webstore at the $3.99 cover price.

BOOM! also issued variant covers for this issue by Toni Infante, Christian Ward, Matias Bergara, and Jenny Frison, along with a separate Retailer Thank You variant. The Di Meo Cover A is the main cover and is not an incentive or store-exclusive edition. The issue reached a fourth printing, with each subsequent printing carrying new cover art.

Original MSRP: $3.99

Series Title: We Only Find Them When They're Dead

Issue: #1

Cover: A (Regular Simone Di Meo Cover)

Cover Artist: Simone Di Meo

Writer: Al Ewing

Artist: Simone Di Meo

Publisher: BOOM!
