The issue carries a story-event key: it contains a reference to the destruction of the DC Universe, an unusual moment of inter-publisher acknowledgment embedded in a Marvel cosmic narrative. The arc frames Thor's confrontation with Galactus and the Black Winter, stacking cosmic stakes from the first pages of the volume.

This copy is the 5th printing variant (cover H), one of several later printings Marvel issued as the Cates run built substantial reader attention in late 2020. The 5th printing carries a Nic Klein cover and is distinct from the original first-print cover. Later printings of early Cates-era Thor issues are a straightforward way to read the run, and this one carries the same interior story and key content as the first print. The issue's title, 'Lightning and Hunger,' reflects the dynamic between Thor and Galactus that anchors the arc.

Characters: Galactus (Galan), Balder the Brave (Balder Odinson), Volstagg the Voluminous

Series Title: Thor, Vol. 6

Issue: #2

Cover: H (5th Printing Variant)

Cover Artist: Nic Klein

Writer: Donny Cates

Artist: Nic Klein

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Publication Year: 2020

Printing: 5th Printing

Variant Type: 5th Printing Variant Cover

Key Issue: Reference to the destruction of the DC Universe (story event)

Story Arc: The Devourer King

*PHOTO DISCLAIMER: All photos are of the actual items, unless marked as pre-order.
