Written by Donny Cates with interior art by Geoff Shaw, it opens the 'Thanos Wins' arc and delivers the first appearance of Frank Castle in his Cosmic Ghost Rider identity, a reveal that became one of the defining moments of Cates's Marvel tenure. This copy is the Cover C Mike McKone Legacy Headshot variant, produced as part of Marvel's Legacy initiative headshot series, featuring McKone's portrait-style treatment of a key Marvel character.

The Legacy Headshot variants were incentive covers produced for Marvel's 2017 Legacy publishing initiative, with McKone contributing a run of character-focused headshot portraits across the line. As an incentive variant tied to a key issue, this cover sits at the intersection of a genuine key and a collectible variant format, making it a different proposition from the standard A cover of the same issue. The interior story, the key status, and the variant cover designation are all fixed to this single printing.

Characters: Thanos, Cosmic Ghost Rider (Frank Castle), Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd), Galactus (Galan)

Series Title: Thanos, Vol. 2

Issue: #13

Cover: C (Mike McKone Legacy Headshot Variant)

Cover Artist: Mike McKone

Writer: Donny Cates, Robbie Thompson

Artist: Geoff Shaw

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Publication Year: 2017

Variant Type: Incentive Legacy Headshot Variant Cover

Key Issue: 1st appearance of Cosmic Ghost Rider

Story Arc: Thanos Wins, Part 1

*PHOTO DISCLAIMER: All photos are of the actual items, unless marked as pre-order.
