Francesco Mattina virgin cover.

Spawn #301 is the issue where Todd McFarlane's creator-owned series surpassed the 300-issue run of Cerebus, making it the longest-running creator-owned comic book series in history. The milestone brought together an exceptional roster of artists for both the story and the variant cover program, with Francesco Mattina contributing the striking Cover G. The virgin edition strips away all trade dress, leaving Mattina's painted artwork uninterrupted across the full cover.

The issue marks the first full appearance of Ninja Spawn, a significant addition to the Spawn mythology. McFarlane wrote the issue, with interior art contributions from Jerome Opeña, Clayton Crain, and Jason Shawn Alexander alongside McFarlane himself. At 48 pages, the book delivers more than a standard issue, befitting the occasion it commemorates.

Mattina's virgin covers show the full painted artwork without the logo overlay.
